posted Aug 6, 2010 8:25 PM by Vicki Andros   [ updated Aug 9, 2010 7:13 PM ]
The Williams Sportsman’s Club is planning a Fund Raiser Practical Pistol Match at the City of Williams Shooting Range on August 29th.  This
will be a five to six stage, 150 + rounds United States Practical Pistol style match A preregistration and required Match Waiver and Release
form is available on our club’s website at www.williamssportsmansclub.org under the menu tab for Special Events.  Same day registration is
also available (if the match is not full) from 7:30AM-8:30AM at Wild West Junction, 321 E. Route 66, Williams, AZ.  Event fees are $25 for non-
members, $20 for members and $15 for active duty military and law enforcement personnel in duty gear.   A required one hour orientation for
match participants new to practical shooting begins at 8AM sharp across from the check-in area at the storage container.  Check-in at the
range for preregistered shooters begins at 8:30AM (no match registration at the range).  Shooters meeting at the range for all match
participants starts at approximately 9:30AM, match to begin immediately thereafter.  Directions to the range are available under the
“Directions” tab on the club website.  While experience shooting practical pistol type matches is recommended, it is not required for
participation.  Basic experience and competency with a handgun is required along with the "new shooters" orientation and enough spare
magazines/speed loaders and/or magazine holders to complete a course of fire up to 30+ rounds will be needed. A suitable sidearm holster
that covers the trigger guard will also be required.  Eye and ear protection is required for all competitors and spectators.  This event will be run
under a "cold range" rule and with the exception of law enforcement in duty gear all firearms prior to entering the range must be unloaded,
holstered or bagged until the competitor is at a designated safety area.  Firearms may be loaded only under the direction of a range officer
when at the firing line.

A free introductory clinic to practical pistol style matches is also planned for in the future as well.  Keep an eye on the club's web site for
further announcements on this.    This match will be conducted under USPSA rules and certified range officers trained through the National
Range Officers Institute.   For further details on match rules or additional information regarding this match, please see “Special Events” on our
website or contact Mike Phillips, Match Director at 928-814-4170 or email mikeephillips@hotmail.com

The Williams Sportsman’s Club appreciates your support.  Funds from this match will go towards the purchase of range equipment and
improvements.
