Junior Smallbore Rifle Program
Program Overview
The Junior Smallbore Rifle Program held at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility is operated under the
direction of the Arizona State Rifle & Pistol association (ASRPA).
The program follows the NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program
• Participants ages 8 – 21 years of age work at their own pace to earn classification levels from Pro-Marksman through Marksman, Marksman First Class, Sharpshooter, 9 Sharpshooter levels and then Expert
• Participants desiring to continue to advance their rifle-shooting skills may participate in the Distinguishing Expert program.
The program offers shooting year-round over 3 sessions/seasons:
• Fall/Winter, Spring, (Off June July and August)
• Shooting is offered on most Thursdays
• Range times are 6pm – 8:30pm.
The program is run by Rick Harrach (Head Coach) and volunteer NRA-certified Range Safety Officers (RSO) and Instructors.
Participation in the program requires completion and submission of registration and waiver forms, as well as payment for the season
