Gold Star Fun Shoots formerly “Introduction to Competitive Sporting Clays”

ASRPA Shotgun Division continues its shotgun instructional programs for beginners, but we try to meet the needs of all shotgun shooters. Are YOU in one of these categories? If so Gold Star Fun Shoots are specifically for YOU. Continue to develop your shooting skills with others in these categories.

1) Graduates from our ASRPA Cactus Clays programs (or former Ben Avery Clay Busters’ Cactus Wrens) and looking for advanced weekly programs,

2) Not interested in registered (National Sporting Clays Association) tournaments,

3) Those who want to participate in weekly recreational fun shoots to improve their shotgun skills

4) Shotgun enthusiasts who have their shotguns in the gun safe and need to keep them from getting rusty,

Here is the format:

Thursdays, Sept 12th through Oct 17th, 5 pm – 7 pm each week
3 weeks of 50-target fun shoots sporting clays on the Rattlesnake Course at Ben Avery Clay Target Center, Phoenix, AZ; followed by 3 weeks of 50 target 5-stand
Gold Stars weekly for shooting skills improvement, e.g. scores
Awards Banquet: Thursday, Oct. 24th (scores will be recorded to determine trophies)
Team squads of 3 – 5 (form your own team; or singles will be placed on a Team to complete a Team group
Competition Rules are according to the National Sporting Clays Association
Each participant must provide own ammo, Clay Target Center shoot card (for targets), and shotgun. Rental shotguns are available from the Clay Target Center, if needed.
Registration fee: $40 ASRPA Members; $75 non ASRPA Members
If under 18 years of age, a parent must be present
